An adjunct therapy is another treatment used together with the primary treatment. Its purpose is to assist the primary treatment. This refers to any therapeutic maneuver ancillary to the care needed in the short term to stabilize a patient but reduces the morbidity and mortality long term.  It is also referred to as adjunctive therapy.
