Classification of processing rooms or areas based on the allowed number of particles per cubic foot of air (ex. class 100 in the United States), or particles per cubic meter depending on the level of activity in the processing room. The European Union (EU) refers to these air classifications as Grade A through D, with A being the cleanest during normal activity.
