Apoptosis is a form of programmed cell death that occurs in multicellular organisms and biochemical events lead to characteristic cell changes (morphology) and death. Another immunosuppressant property of cannabis is apoptosis, allowing malignant cells to ‘die’ naturally. In fact, the National Cancer Institute acknowledges that cannabis has been known to kill cancer cells in the laboratory.
