The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is one of the major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services. The CDC houses the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) whose mission is to develop new knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health and to transfer that knowledge into practice.
