Colorado Responsible Vendor Certification

The Responsible Vendor training program prepares marijuana industry workers to effectively handle complex situations in the industry. Our Colorado Responsible Vendor Certification covers specific regulations to always ensure compliant sales, including checking Identifications (IDs), promoting safe use through consumer education, books and records, security and surveillance, inventory tracking, waste handling, packaging and labeling, and common violations to avoid breaking laws.
Selling and serving marijuana involves many risks, failure to act responsibly and proactively could result in fees/fines, imprisonment, suspension of your license, increased insurance costs, or losing your business. In order to be designated as a Responsible Vendor, all workers involved in handling marijuana products are required to attend and successfully complete their Responsible Vendor training.
If your dispensary or business becomes a certified Responsible Vendor, and you are found to have a compliance problem, the MED will consider your certification as a mitigating factor when determining sanctions or penalties. If you take our Responsible Vendor training to become certified it will help to reduce or eliminate fines and penalties enforced by the MED. Once a licensee is a Responsible Vendor, all new hires must complete training within ninety (90) days of their employment and the certification is valid for two (2) years after receiving your certification.
Only authorized Responsible Vendor training that has been approved by the MED can administer a Responsible Vendor program and confer the Responsible Vendor designation to Medical Marijuana and Retail Marijuana Stores required by law.
