This tool works in conjunction with a dabbing rig, the nail is heated with a torch to vaporize cannabis hash oil when it is applied, which allows for it to be smoked. It is called a nail due to its resemblance of a nail with a thick head. When you heat the nail it will turn red, then you must allow it to cool just until the red color fades and place the cannabis on the head in order to heat and vaporize your smokables.
