Under the new law, adults can possess up to 1 ounce of cannabis in public and up to 10 ounces at home.
Home cultivation is also permitted, with individuals allowed to grow up to six plants, with no more than three being mature at any given time. The state’s recreational cannabis market is expected to launch in 2024, with a strong emphasis on social equity and ensuring that communities disproportionately affected by cannabis prohibition have access to business opportunities in the legal market. Rhode Island’s cannabis industry is poised for growth, and the state is expected to become a key player in the New England cannabis market.\”
