Nunavut Retail Employee Training
The Government of Nunavut’s mandatory training program for all cannabis retail employees, reflecting the territory’s commitment to safe and responsible cannabis retailing under the Cannabis Act (Nunavut). This program is designed to ensure that all individuals involved in cannabis retailing, including retailers and their public-facing employees, are well-versed in the legal, ethical, and practical aspects of cannabis sales in Nunavut.
Offered at no cost, this comprehensive training program spans approximately four to six hours, making it accessible and convenient for all participants. The curriculum is meticulously crafted to cover essential topics such as territorial cannabis regulations, responsible retailing practices, customer service excellence, and the importance of adherence to public safety standards.
A pivotal component of the training is the assessment process. To attain certification, participants must achieve a score of 75% or higher on the final exam. Recognizing the diverse learning paces and needs of individuals, the program offers unlimited attempts at the course, ensuring that all participants can achieve success at their own pace.
The certification obtained upon the successful completion of the training is valid for five years, after which re-certification is required. This cycle ensures that all cannabis retail employees remain updated on evolving regulations and best practices, reinforcing Nunavut’s stance on continuous education and compliance in the cannabis sector.
