Michigan Responsible Vendor Certification
For the cannabis industry to maintain a safe and compliant workplace, workers need to complete basic safety and health education. Our cannabis worker safety education provides workers and employers training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. This training will give you the knowledge you need to stay safe and secure in the workplace, protect your coworkers, and keep the entire business in compliance.
The Cannabis Cultivation Technician Certificate is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare motivated professionals for a successful career in cannabis cultivation. This course serves as a general onboarding solution for the cultivation environment and provides support to individual cannabis professionals in their daily roles as well as strategic business objectives across the industry.
Green CulturED will assess and accredit certificate programs as conforming to the requirements of ASTM D8403-21, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs within the Cannabis and Hemp Industries, developed by ASTM International’s Subcommittee D37.06 on Personnel Training, Assessment, Credentialing. ANAB staff were members of this committee and provided significant input on the design of the standard.
Throughout the course, students will gain a thorough understanding of growing practices from start to finish and learn how to deliver high-quality plant products in any growing condition. Topics covered include seed germination, plant nutrition, pest and disease management, cultivation facility design and maintenance, and harvest and post-harvest processes. Students will also learn about compliance and regulations specific to the cannabis industry.
Upon completion of this program, you will possess the skills and knowledge necessary to work effectively as a cultivation technician and contribute to the success of any organization. This provides overview information regarding safety, including workers’ rights and employer responsibilities so you will master all critical aspects of workplace safety and be fully equipped to avoid and prevent workplace hazards and worker accidents. Employers are responsible for providing additional training for their cannabis workforce on the specific hazards of their job as noted in many safety standards.
