A package tag is involved in the “Seed-to-Sale” tracking process that gives each item a UID (Unique Identifier). There are typically two types of tagged inventory: plant tags and package tags. Package tags have a distinct UID that identifies a product or products that are ready for sale or transfer to another licensee. This is how the government regulators tracks a plant through the entire supply chain, ensuring that legal cannabis is sold to legal customers, and doesn’t end up in the illicit market.
