It is the precursor to Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), existing in its raw, unheated form. When subjected to decarboxylation—a process involving heat or aging—THCVA loses its carboxyl group, transforming into THCV, which is known for its unique effects, such as appetite suppression and potential metabolic benefits. As a raw cannabinoid, THCVA is being explored for its potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroprotective properties.
