#0excludeGlossary (THCP) is a potent and rare cannabinoid found in cannabis, notable for its significantly higher psychoactive potential compared to #1excludeGlossary (THC). This is due to its seven-carbon alkyl side chain, which enhances its binding affinity to CB1 receptors in the brain. Discovered in 2019 by Italian researchers, THCP has been shown to be up to 33 times more active at CB1 receptors than THC, potentially amplifying both its psychoactive and therapeutic effects. Despite its rarity, THCP is garnering attention for its potential in pain relief, appetite modulation, and other medicinal applications.
