Ohio Dispensary Continuing Education

The Ohio Dispensary Continuing Education Certification is designed to meet licensed dispensary employees’ ongoing compliance training requirements that are regulated by the Board of Pharmacy (BOP) for each working professional’s biennial license that’s required during employees’ licensing renewal period.

As stipulated in the “Employee Training Requirements” (Ohio Administrative Code – Rule 3796:6-3-19), each designated representative must ensure that dispensary employees receive at least sixteen (16) hours of continuing education every two (2) years relevant to their roles. This continuing education must be documented comprehensively as the records are subject to inspection and audit by the state BOP which regulates marijuana dispensaries state-wide.

Ohio BOP may specify other topics, so this continuing education will be updated to meet emerging legal requirements needs and tailored to ensure that all dispensary personnel are competent, compliant, and committed to safety. This ensures employees are prepared to handle the many everyday details correctly and are ready to think on their feet to make good decisions in sticky situations.
